How NCC official, wife, 4 kids, niece, driver died in road crash + PHOTOS

 

More details have emerged on how a staff of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Mr. Nuhu Hamman’Gabdo, and all members of his immediate family perished in a road crash.

Hamman ’Gabdo died alongside his wife, four children, his niece and driver in an accident that occurred on Saturday, January 9, 2021 along Nasarawa-Abuja Expressway while the deceased and his family were returning from his country home, Serti in Gashaka Local Government Area of Taraba State, the commission said in a statement sent to Platforms Africa on Sunday evening.

An eye witness account has it that the Siena Car conveying him and his family has an headon collision at top speed with another Siena and this force led to fire which engulfed the two cars and prevented rescue team of local people from gaining easy access to the victims.

“The cry of the children trapped in the raging fire was still being heard from the thick dark smoke bellowing from the two vehicles minutes after the accident. It was a gory and terrifying sight and no one who has children will be at that scene and not shed hot tears over how a generation just perished like that,” a facebook user, Jibrin Sheu, said.

Many of Hamman’Gabdo friends have, according to checks by Platforms Africa, taken to the popular social media network to express shock, sorrow and condolences to his family.

Muhammed Murtala Musa wrote: “INNALILLAHI WA INNA ILAIHI RAJI’UN. I can’t hold tears rolling down. I here by announce the sudden dead of Prince Nuhu Hamman’Gabdo who reported to have perished off & burnt to death in a ghastly motor accident with his wife and entire children, including the daughter of his late elder brother Prince Mustapha Hammangabdo who is living with him, along Nasarawa – Abuja road.”

“I pray, may almighty Allah give the entire deceased souls jannatul firdausi and grant the entire bereaved families, friends and Office colleagues the fortitude to bear the irreversible lost.”

Until his death, Hamman ’Gabdo was a Principal Manager in the Human Capital and Administration Department of the Commission.

“The entire Board, Management and staff of NCC express their deepest grief over the incident and commiserate with the entire family, relatives and friends of the deceased.

“We pray that the Almighty grant the deceased eternal peace in His bosom and that the entire NCC and the deceased family find the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” the statement signed by Dr. Ikechukwu Adinde, Director, Public Affairs, Nigerian Communications Commission, read.
